Wednesday, 15 Nov, 2017

According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, The Handmaid's Tale season 2 is set to premiere on Hulu in April.

Hulu teased the new season, saying: "The Emmy-winning drama series returns with a second season shaped by Offred's pregnancy and her ongoing fight to free her future child from the dystopian horrors of Gilead".

Alongside the date, Hulu gave fans the first look at the upcoming season with a clip titled, 'No turning back, ' showing a handmaid running down a dark corridor while a menacing soundtrack plays in the background.

Moss won for her portrayal of lead character Offred; Ann Dowd won Outstanding Supporting Actress for playing Aunt Lydia; Bruce Miller won for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series; and Reed Morano won for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series. Don't try to guess what happens in that first scene of episode one in season two.

The show won Hulu several Emmys in September, including the award for best drama.

Season two is now in production.

The show is based on the 1985 Margaret Atwood novel of the same name. It's incredible. We're really looking to blow people away, and we have every intention to break [the story] open and go even further in all directions.

Also returning to Hulu is The Path, the unsettling Hugh Dancy, Aaron Paul, and Michelle Monaghan-led series about a cult in upstate NY. The Path season 3 premieres on Hulu on January 17.

Hard Sun, a pre-apocalyptic crime drama from Luther creator Neil Cross, starring Jim Sturgess and Agyness Deyn as London detectives, premieres March 7.

Official countdown to Hulu's midseason premieres begins now.
