Trump announces 'fake news' awards for 'dishonest' media

Friday, 12 Jan, 2018

Amid a flurry of freakish, early 2018 tweets from President Trump, he lobbed possibly the strangest yet Tuesday night, saying he will announce "THE MOST DISHONEST & CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR" Monday at '5:00 o'clock'.

He asked his followers to stay tune for further details on the issue.

"I will be announcing THE MOST DISHONEST & CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR on Monday at 5:00 o'clock".

Trump however loves the right-leaning FOX News Channel (StarSat 261 / Cell C black 502) and watches the opinion-skewed morning show FOX & Friends - which means that sadly FOX News will clearly be shut out of and shunned from the American president's inaugural "dishonest media" awards.

U.S. president Donald Trump has had a complicated relationship with American media in his almost one year of presidency. They are all bad. "And we want to hear from you", the email said. 'Let the President know if there is another story you think should be crowned as the 2017 KING of Fake News'. "2018 will be a great year for America!" he wrote Sunday.

"There's no point in pretending that some journalists are anything more than peddlers of falsehoods and liberal propaganda", the email continues. But in November, Trump floated the idea of awarding a "fake news trophy" to media outlets to mark their "distorted" coverage of his presidency.

However, Trump's definition of Fake News is totally subjective.

CNN claiming Trump and Trump Jr. were given access to WikiLeaks documents.

President Trump has frequently singled out the Times, the Washington Post, CNN and other outlets for criticism of their reporting on the White House.
