Arsenal's pre-match preparation for their match against Bournemouth was overshadowed by the news that Alexis Sanchez did not travel with them to the Vitality Stadium.

In the tweet below, Ferdinand explains that he would love to see Sanchez join United and that he will personally direct the Chilean to Old Trafford to help push a move.

Manchester City and Liverpool are also in the race for Sanchez but United have the upper hand because they're prepared to meet Arsenal's demands.

'What you want to focus on is the players on the pitch who can do well for the club'.

"I think there is confidence on the red side of Manchester that they have the fee that Arsenal are looking for and they maybe have a player in Henrikh Mkhitaryan that might certainly catch Arsene Wenger's eye".

The Chilean's contract is up in the summer and Arsenal are keen to recoup some money for him rather than letting him go for free at the end of the season.

As reported by ESPN on Sep.

However, the former Borussia Dortmund player has since proven Mourinho's doubts to be well-founded and the two men clashed in November, prompting the manager to drop the player from his first-team.

Thomas Lemar was initially Wenger's favourite but Arsenal failed to land him with a £90m bid last August, when Sanchez was on the verge of joining City for £50m.

"I honestly believe Mkhitaryan is one of the best players in the Premier League, his confidence is just shot at United".

So, when it emerged Sanchez has been left out of the squad, United supporters were quick to express their excitement on Twitter...

He says he feels sorry for Arsenal fans who will have to soon watch Sanchez play for one of their rivals.
