Carmelo Anthony's night cut short due to sprained right ankle

Los Angeles has now strung a four-game winning streak for the third time in a row and have now won 12 of their last 16 games in quite an impressive fashion.

Oklahoma City did a lot right in its upset of Golden State, and the team is expected to have Carmelo Anthony back in the lineup after he left after just six minutes with an ankle injury.

Paul George has been a flawless fit next to Russell Westbrook in Oklahoma City's backcourt and has put together an All-Star campaign next to the league's defending MVP.

They've done well developing their young players, but they won't turn a superstar down. As a team, the Thunder shot 47 percent from the field and 12 of 31 from the three-point line as they led from start to finish after setting the tone with 42 points in the first quarter.

Brandon Ingram scored 26 points for the Lakers as he continued to handle point guard duties while Lonzo Ball sat out his 11th straight game with a knee injury. Rookie Josh Hart had 10 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Steven Adams was the only other Thunder player to score in doubles figures.

Patrick Patterson started the second half in place of Anthony, but OKC coach Billy Donovan said he'll reevaluate his starting five before making a decision for Thursday's contest.

Rather than waiting for the offseason to give George a pitch on Oklahoma City, the Thunder signed up for a chance to give him a season-long pitch through their success.

"It's just different opportunities", Donovan said. He would make just six of his next 20 shots.

Still, he isn't ruling out leaving the Thunder in free agency.

Kuzma declined to say if he tried to sell George on joining the Lakers during the game. At the end of the season, it's still on my decision on what I need to do for my family. Walton hadn't even spoken to Thomas, as the two traded voicemails in an attempt to reach one another. I'm happy with playing with Russ, happy with playing with Melo, and this organization.

The Thunder returns home to host Memphis Sunday at 6:00 pm at Chesapeake Arena.

Lakers: Open a three-game trip at the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday.
