Donald Glover to host Saturday Night Live and perform as musical guest

Cinco De Mayo just got a whole lot more exciting as Saturday Night Live has announced that Donald Glover is set to host the show that night.

Now underway, this weekend's episode features John Mulaney as host and Jack White as musical guest.

And, of course, the thing everyone seems to be looking forward to is the moment when he, as host, introduces himself as the musical guest.

The actor/rapper will be playing Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story, which will undoubtedly breathe some inspiration into the sketch writers at SNL.

Directed by Ron Howard, the movie will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival before arriving in theaters on May 25. Glover will host an episode of the long-running NBC sketch comedy show on May 5.

Glover also joins a list of musicians who performed double duty on SNL. Among them Justin Timberlake, Janet Jackson, Bruno Mars, Jennifer Lopez, Ludacris and others.

This marks the first time Glover will appear on the show in either capacity.
