According to a report by WABetaInfo, this feature is available for WhatsApp's Android users.

To make use of the Voice Recording lock feature, users will need to tap the mic button in the chat, and after 0.5 seconds, the UI will present a locked microphone button.

Timestamps for chats on the WhatsApp beta version for Android were showing as "89ESTERDAY and "84ODAY" instead of "Yesterday" and "Today".

WhatsApp beta version 2.18.109, which rolled out to users on April 12, had the timestamp issue. This bug was altering the time stamp on WhatsApp messages by replacing the first two alphabets with the ASCI codes. So, the beta testing programme will help tech giant to improve the stability of the app. And as a beta tester, you have the opportunity of trying the upcoming features before anyone else and give your feedback to WhatsApp about any bug.

The company keeps on improving its features to sever users as good as they can.

The latest report states that the version between the 2.18.106 and 2.18.110 updates has got this new feature, which will let you download deleted media from the servers. Earlier, the company would let the recipient of the media file to download it within a period of 30 days, after which it was deleted from the company's server and hence couldn't be recovered unless the sender releases it again. Previously, when users deleted specific files sent over WhatsApp by going to the specific folder on the smartphone, they were not able to download it any more. The twitter user @FidatoCA first spotted this feature. According to the report, the recipient was able to download media from a text sent 2 months ago but there for the messages dating back to nearly a year, the application asks to request the sender to send the file again.
