'Crazy' to be on same list as Kane - Sessegnon

It has been a dream of mine to play in the Premier League with Fulham.

The teenager admits it is a bit surreal to have been included on a shortlist with household names from Tottenham, Manchester United and Manchester City.

Speaking about the PFA shortlist, which also includes Manchester City's Leroy Sane, Ederson and Raheem Sterling, he said: "It is insane to be on a shortlist with those players, but I'm just happy to be in and around those types of players".

"I just want to play in the Premier League with Fulham", the England starlet told the Evening Standard at the EFL Awards, where he swept up a hat-trick of awards. It is credit to the team really, the way we play and ever since I made my debut.

"I just want to carry on the way I have been going".

"I have been at the club since the age of eight".

The 17-year-old, who has scored 14 goals in 39 Championship games this season, won five prizes at the EFL awards on Sunday including Championship Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season.

"Coming through the youth ranks and playing for the first team has been a great honour for me", Sessegnon said.

Stats website WhoScored monitor the performances of every Premier League player in each match, and rate them out of 10 for each game.

The Portuguese midfielder did make it into the combined EFL Team of the Year (as voted for by EFL managers), alongside Sessegnon... "Hopefully we do it automatic but if not then via the play-offs".

There have been rumours that Sessegnon could make Gareth Southgate's England squad as a surprise selection for the 2018 World Cup in Russian Federation.

But, with a game in hand over the Bluebirds and only one point behind, Sessegnon says Fulham - who are unbeaten in 21 games - are determined to avoid the play-offs after losing in last year's semi-finals.

"It is just about focusing on Fulham", Sessegnon said.
