For the new series, Sasha and Janel will be reprising their PLL characters, once again bringing the roles of Alison DiLaurentis and Mona Vanderwaal to life on screen.

Sasha Pieterse has opened up about the upcoming PLL spinoff series, The Perfectionists.

Pretty Little Liars may have ended nearly a year ago, but the saga looks set to continue after Freeform confirmed there's a spin-off series in the works.

The series will be based on Sara Shepard's book The Perfectionists, and will be merged with the world of Pretty Little Liars!

According to Variety, the new series is "set in the town of Beacon Heights, a seemingly flawless town where a group of three college friends struggle with the stress of being overachievers". They will star in the series alongside Eli Brown, Sofia Carson, Sydney Park, Kelly Rutherford, Graeme Thomas King, and Hayley Erin.

Alloy Entertainment and Long Lake Media in association with Warner Horizon Scripted Television are producing the series.

Pretty Little Liars ran for seven seasons on Freeform and wrapped up previous year after a whopping 160 episodes. The pilot was directed and executive produced by Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum (Relationship Status).

The decision to find a way to continue the franchise with PLL: The Perfectionists comes after the flagship became Freeform's signature hit and ranked as cable's No. 1 drama among viewers 18-34 and 12-34 during its final season.

"The stress of needing to be ideal leads to the town's first murder".

As it turns out, Alison isn't the only returning character from Pretty Little Liars. The first, Ravenswood, was canceled after one season.
