This is something that we saw DICE begin to experiment with in Battlefield 1, eventually putting premium DLC maps on a rotating schedule for non season-pass owners.
In regards to multiplayer, EA are introducing a new live service to the Battlefield series called Tides of War, and in conjunction with the new live service there will be no multiplayer premium pass or paid expansions to Battlefield V.
As suspected, the setting for Battlefield V will be World War 2, but instead of focusing on the most famous battles from that conflict - Normandy, Berlin, Dunkirk - developer DICE is seeking to focus on the untold stories set in the unexplored corners.
However, fans that order the Battlefield V Deluxe Edition will get access three days early on October 16, while EA Access and Origin Access members will be able to jump into the Play First Trial on October 11.
In addition to the multiplayer modes and single-player War Stories campaigns, the game will include a four-player cooperative mode named Combined Arms. This is not a standalone mode, but the final round of Grand Operations.
The company explains that Battlefield 5 will be set in the lesser known regions during the second World War, including Rotterdam. While the event lacked in terms of gameplay footage, we did get a decent amount of information.
There's an update to operations now and it is called "grand operations" that will be taking players on a tour across different game modes on multiple maps.
A lot of news has been shared about EA's upcoming new shooter, Battlefield 5.
Tides of War - Embark on a journey where new content drops continuously transport you and your Company to a huge variety of key WW2 locations, where new battlefields and gear await.
"Battlefield V will give you something you have never seen before in a World War II shooter".
Battlefield V will be available worldwide October 19th on Xbox One, PlayStation®4 and Origin for PC. Players that pre-order any edition of the game with the Battlefield V Enlister Offer will get early access to the Open Beta and other in-game benefits including soldier customization options, access to Special Assignments starting at launch week and immediate access to five weapons to use in Battlefield 1**.
