We Agreed on Fostering Greater Economic Partnership With China - Putin

Lauding the US president's efforts in the worldwide scene, Putin said that Trump's actions, though frequently criticized in his own country, are "constructive".

Before departing for the 44th G7 summit, which is being held in Quebec, Canada, American President Donald Trump called for end to Russian expulsion from G7 grouping.

The president made the suggestion to reporters at the White House just before leaving for Canada to attend the annual meeting of the G-7, a gathering that already was promising to be crackling with tension over trade, Iran and Mr. Trump's sharp-edged approach to foreign leaders.

"We will be ready to greet them all in Moscow", he added, referring to leaders of the USA, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, Canada and Italy.

Despite this, Putin also said Sunday he's ready to meet with Trump, "as soon as the US side is ready".

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday opened a regional security summit attended by Russian Federation and Iran with boasts of the bloc's "unity", just as a fractious G7 gathering was mired in divisions between Europe and the US. Russian Federation was kicked out of the G7 after it annexed Ukraine's Crimea in 2014.

"For Putin, this is return on his investment, and it's safe to say that his investment has paid off beyond even his wildest dreams".

"The U.S. president has repeatedly said that it's reasonable to hold such a meeting", he said.

The two leades agreed that as all-weather strategic cooperative partners and close friends, Pakistan and China have always stood by each other and would continue to further strengthen this time-tested relationship.

Professor Zhu Feng, director of Nanjing University's Institute of International Studies, also said the award was a clear signal to the USA that if it increased pressure on both countries, it would mean both China and Russian Federation would have no choice but to increase cooperation so they can jointly deal with Washington.

Now in the wake of the US withdrawal from the pact, "SCO members may use granting full membership to Iran as a way to demonstrate support for (Tehran) and the nuclear agreement", said Dawn Murphy, professor of worldwide security studies at the US Air War College.

He referred to a meeting of President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Singapore on Tuesday, saying "we positively view the intentions of Pyongyang, Seoul and Washington to reach a comprehensive settlement of the crisis through talks".

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Sunday criticized USA "unliteralism" in withdrawing from the Iran nuclear deal and said he appreciated efforts by China and Russian Federation to maintain the agreement.

'I fully agree with him, ' he said, adding that personal meetings and work by experts are needed to tackle the issue. "We are facing a very volatile region", she said.

But no disharmony was evident during the 2-day summit in Qingdao.

"As far as I know, the USA president has stated that the United States is considering the possibility of additional regulation of deliveries of the automotive vehicles to the U.S. market".

Trump pulled out of the 2015 Obama-era accord last month, despite objections from European allies and other nations.
