New Forza Horizon 4 ready to excite gamers

Tuesday, 12 Jun, 2018

Overall, Microsoft announced 15 exclusives yesterday, with Halo: Infinite, Gears 5 and Forza Horizon 4 being the most exciting first-party titles.

There are a few more details on the blog of developer 343 Studios that give you some very brief ideas of what exactly Halo Infinite is.

The next Halo game, Halo Infinite, was revealed with a brief teaser trailer during Xbox's E3 press conference Sunday.

"The world of gaming is on a historic growth path", Spencer said at an Xbox media event ahead of the formal start of the Electronic Entertainment Expo here this week.

Get ready to call your local pawn shop and annoy them with an outdated meme, because there's a new Battletoads game in development.

Trailers were also shown for upcoming Xbox exclusives Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Forza Horizon 4 (which is set in Britain this time and features dynamically changing seasons) and Crackdown 3, with a brief tease also given for a 2D Battletoads revival. Game streaming and game hosting could potentially be a big booster for the company's Azure cloud business.

However, Microsoft has had a relationship with Ninja Theory more or less since the studio's inception: Microsoft published the debut game from Ninja Theory's first incarnation, Just Add Monsters, entitled Kung Fu Chaos. The variety of environments (many wide, open landscapes and expansive vistas) suggests something more open-world in design than the standard Halo games.

When it comes to the Forza Horizon 4 release date, Microsoft are expected to announce the game later this year. "Bigger announcements included Playground Games" Forza Horizon 4, which allows players to race around the United Kingdom countryside in a massive shared-world racing tournament, with dynamic seasons affecting conditions; the reveal of Techland's Dying Light 2, evolving the parkour-inspired survival horror with a new, wildly branching consequences system; and Capcom's slick-looking Devil May Cry 5.

There's been no fighting game specific cues as of yet and it's wholly possible that we won't see any directly FGC-related content in today's conference, but the well is deep and the possibilities are endless.

Microsoft also introduced new innovations to push digital gaming forward, including FastStart, an innovation from Microsoft's Machine Learning Team, and plans from Microsoft's Gaming Cloud Team to develop a game streaming service to unlock console-quality gaming on any device. Last year, officials said they expected to deliver a game-streaming service within three years.
