After an impressive showing at Electronic Arts' E3 2018 press conference yesterday, one of the biggest upcoming games on everyone's mind is Anthem, the new original IP from Mass Effect and Dragon Age developer BioWare. As the teaser earlier this week had promised, EA provided updates on their various sports titles, Battlefield V, Anthem, and more!
EA also released a new trailer for their indie game Sea of Solitude.
This will mean teaming up with three other players, wielding an arsenal of Javelin exosuits, each equipped with unique weapons and abilities.
In terms of combat it all looks really solid, with four classes of Javelin (those being the mecha-suits) to choose from - all allowing for different styles of play.
Anthem will release on 22 February, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The Clone Wars is the next set of plans the game has to offer. Certain dramatic events may alter the weather or make other temporary adjustments, often foreshadowing bigger changes like the reveal of all-new areas. "However, we've put most of our effort into Javelin personalization".
E3 2018 is finally here. About the player's role as a "Freelancer" uniquely skilled to pilot the game's quartet of Javelin exosuits, the exact nature of Anthem's attractive world and the mutated flora and fauna that calls it home, the dynamic environments, the form the proposed future story content could take, and the identity and motivations of Anthem's antagonists: The Dominion. The title of the game is Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order and will release Holiday 2019. I don't know about you, but a Battlefield take on Battle Royale has me chomping at the bit!
While you can play solo, you will need an online connection to play. Single player and multiplayer should both be getting equal focus, though if we're honest it's the multiplayer that keeps people coming back every time. It will also be released on September 7.
After this, EA announced a new Cloud service which enables gamers to play their "favorite titles" across a wide variety of platforms.
Anthem also marks the return of Casey Hudson, formerly the director of the Mass Effect trilogy, to Bioware, and his imprint seems to be evident on the game's development. Federation Internationale de Football Association 19 will be available on September 28th, 2018 on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
