Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition announced

Wednesday, 13 Jun, 2018

Update: Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition has officially been confirmed for release on Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch via Bandai Namco's European Twitter account. But I'll even take a straight port as this is my favorite game in the Tales of series and I can't wait to play Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition when it comes to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch this Winter. It'll be released later this year. The remastered release will contain additional characters and content.

Stay tuned for more information on Tales of Vesperia and other exciting new games during our E3 2018 coverage. The remaster is the first Tales entry to come to Xbox One, preceded by Tales of Berseria, which launched on PlayStation 4 in January of previous year. As the pair flee the capital in pursuit of the ne'er do well, Yuri soon finds himself wrapped up in a much bigger plot that threatens to destroy the entire planet.

TALES OF VESPERIA: Definitive Edition uses a specialised version of the TALES OF series' Linear Motion Battle System for combat. You can swap between the four characters at any time during battles to perform both physical and Mystic Artes attacks. After all, it's a decade old remake of a Japanese role playing game, albeit with a handful of never-before-seen-in-the-West extras thrown in.

Bandai Namco is remastering the title in honor of its 10 year anniversary. The company is known for creating and publishing numerous industry's top video game franchises, including PAC-MAN, GALAGA, TEKKEN, SOULCALIBUR, and ACE COMBAT.
