While some fans might have expected Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to be chosen for this role, the newlyweds did not make the cut.

From the duchess's side, Kate's parents Michael and Carole, brother James, pregnant sister Pippa and her husband James Matthews were there. His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge is fifth in line to the throne, and the sixth great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth.

The 11-week-old is set to get baptized at the Chapel Royal in St James's Palace and Kensington Palace have now confirmed that Nicholas van Cutsem, Guy Pelly, Harry Aubrey-Fletcher, Lady Laura Meade, Mrs. Robert Carter and Lucy Middleton will all be godparents.

BBC reports that Middleton was overheard saying Louis was "very relaxed and peaceful", and joked to the archbishop that she hopes "he stays like this".

It's also been the site of several royal weddings, including the marriage of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in 1840, and the nuptials of King George V and Princess Mary of Teck in 1893.

Meghan, attending her first royal christening, wore an olive green Ralph Lauren outfit and a Stephen Jones hat. Looking radiant as she carried her third child, asleep in her arms while clad in his storied christening gown, the proud mom kept with her sartorial tradition as she turned up in a cream Alexander McQueen ensemble and a Jane Taylor headpiece. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex followed closely behind the pair.

Following the 40-minute traditional religious service, guests attended a private tea which included slices of christening cake, from a tier taken from the duke and duchess' wedding cake.

William and Harry wore matching blue suits.

Prince Louis was decked out in the same christening gown that Prince George and Princess Charlotte have worn before him.
